Curriculum
Capable, Competent and Creative Children
The kindergarten strives to work collaboratively with children, families and the community to provide a caring, safe, inspiring environment where children feel secure to play, explore, experiment and learn more about themselves, others and their world.
We value and respect each child’s home and cultural background and acknowledge and celebrate the different experiences and practices in our community.
We believe that children learn best through play. Play provides opportunities for children to learn, discover, create, improvise and imagine.
Children's learning is dynamic, complex and holistic. Through our curriculum we develop the whole child; physical, social, emotional, personal, spiritual, creative, cognitive and linguistic.
St Lucia Kindergarten is guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework and C&K’s Building Waterfalls curriculum.
While at St Lucia Kindy, the children will be working towards the following five learning outcomes:
· Children have a strong sense of identity.
· Children are connected with and contribute to their world
· Children have a strong sense of well being
· Children are confident and involved learners
· Children are effective communicators
