For a whole week in June, St Lucia Kindy's classroom space transformed into a stunning art gallery of children's work. The show celebrated the artists - the children - and included photographs of the artistic process, as well as their artist statements. A diverse range of materials and methods were used to create observational drawings, self-portraits, clay figures, loose part art, collage and collaborative pieces. The crowd favourite was a collection of photographs entitled "Hands have their own language" which captured children's hands creating and playing at Kindy. It was wonderful to see how excited the children were to have their artwork celebrated, and how proud their families were. Our teachers worked incredibly hard to carefully and respectfully create this display. A big thank you to our whole team.
We hope to make this an annual event in the future!
